Survival Guide for Religious Refugees

This is a message for those brave or discontented souls who have come to the point in their spiritual journey where they know they have to 'walk.' That is, they have to walk out the door and leave whatever church they happen to be worshipping in presently. It's never an easy move; besides external pressures to just keep the status quo, there are a myriad of questions about the next step. My hope is that this essay will help you on the journey. I know whereof I write... I've been there.

Personal Background Note

For anyone wondering why I feel motivated or qualified to expound on this subject, here is a brief autobiographical sketch on my journey.

I was born and raised in a Roman Catholic home by parents who were similarly born and raised. At a later stage, they became quite serious about their faith, and I too, after a period of 'seeking,' returned to the RC fold in my mid-20s. After reading scripture for myself for the first time (in my thirties!) I had enough doubts about the RC Church that I led my wife and daughter into another, ostensibly 'Biblical' church. We went 'whole hog' in that cult for almost a decade, until again, my initial doubting points could not be supported a moment longer. We withdrew our membership and struck out into the wild blue yonder. For a while we fellowshipped at a local, congenial, evangelical church. But in a little while, even this felt quite hollow, and we now get together with a few, like-minded friends in our homes, and have very informal study, prayer and share sessions, as and when the Spirit moves us.

We have recognized a growing need for some kind of support for those believers in Christ who leave this or that denomination, and feel quite disoriented, and are looking for a beacon in the darkness.

The Scenario

There can be any number of reasons to prompt a sincere Christian to consider leaving his/her church. This article assumes that the reason is not related to 'personality issues' or conflicts due to superficial matters; what we want to deal with is a genuine prompting of the Spirit that tells you to 'get out of her, my people.' This inner urge is recognized by the believer as a need to 'seek' greater spiritual growth, which is generally not possible within the context of the church situation. You know it's time to move on--the first question is: to where? Other questions will arise; for example, what do I really believe about... (insert the conundrum that the Holy Spirit used to trouble your heart).

First Things First

The first thing you must understand is that your experience is perfectly normal. Indeed, I would say it is necessary and expected of a true follower of Christ, at least in this present age. Why? The battle lines are being drawn between the false and the genuine, especially in the sphere of religion. There are so many false shepherds pretending to be Christian while promoting utterly un-Christian beliefs and practices. So many nominal Christian bench-warmers simply attend a church for merely social and cultural reasons. Perhaps you too were a 'routine Christian' going for your weekly spiritual fix without ever giving a lot of deep thought to what it's all about. But then, something triggered a 'cognitive dissonance' in the spiritual region of your mind. And now your once-peaceful world is in chaos. Dear God, I've got to actually think about what I believe... and I don't know where to begin! Get over it; you're not the first or only believer to face the problem. And I expect that there'll be hordes more in the next few years.

Quite likely, the matter that provoked you to start questioning this whole religion thing had (has) to do with a doctrinal issue. What does my church teach about 'whatever' (substitute your issue: abortion, homosexuality, church authority are some of the current 'hot topics). Your pastor quotes you all kinds of Bible verses, many of them dating back to 3500 years ago, and says 'See--God says so!' Other people, equally zealous, tell you there's another side of the story (maybe several sides) and they can provide all kinds of verses and logic to back their claims. Your 'spiritual gut' is telling you something is wrong here, and you may disagree with your church's official position. You may even come to a point where you start to doubt this whole 'Christianity' business.

My advice is this: don't make a commitment to any position until you've taken time to study and pray and seek God's guidance.

The Big Question

For most individuals in the situation I've described, the question they wrestle with is 'where do I go now?' In other words, to which of the gazillion 'Christian' churches should I now attach my allegiance?

The first advice I'd give is STOP, and start thinking about what you're asking. Why are you even thinking you have to 'go to a church?' We Christians have been so brain-washed for many centuries about the necessity of congregating with fellow worshippers in a building called a church, that we no longer think of it as a paradigm to question. Who says you have to 'go' to a building or attach yourself to an organization? Well, the clergy of your local, friendly, religion outlet, that's who. And who benefits if you do join a church? It's the franchise owners, the pastor of the local establishment (in terms of precious membership, the measure of his success), and the denomination, in terms of weekly revenue from collections.

When Jesus was alone at a well in Samaria one time, a woman came to him and asked a similar question. In an implied query, she said: Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.' So there-this woman presented the Master with the big question about where should we go. What did Jesus reply? He stated '(Yet) a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth.' (See John 4). You see; it's not about a place, it's about a direct relationship with the Father, who is a Spirit and must be approached in spirit.

So, am I saying stop going to church? Let's leave that thorny problem for a while. Meanwhile, notice that Jesus emphasized that true believers 'must worship God in spirit and in truth.' Isn't that what goes on in church? Well... I'll let you seekers answer that one. But I'll ask another impertinent question: How can you worship God in spirit and truth when you sit zombie-like in a church pew listening to someone else tell you what you should believe and what is truth? It can't happen until you get involved and 'seek and knock and ask'. I know from personal experience that the moment you take Jesus seriously and start to seek and ask, you are going to incur the displeasure of the pastors, disturb the slumber of your fellow members, and soon find yourself on the margins of church life. If you think it's just me, a grumbler, then I challenge you to try it for yourself. More likely, you readers who get this far are ones who've already taken the challenge and you know full well that this is what happens!

Perhaps you got emotionally hurt in the scenario I've outlined; but I'm telling you not to take it personally. You are not battling just flesh, but the powers of the air who pull the strings of the church clergy and members... and they don't like it one bit when a person starts to think about his faith. Don't walk out the door with hard feelings; this is just how a fallen world operates. Go joyfully, knowing the Spirit has propelled you in a new direction. Keep seeking, knocking, asking!

That's it--don't continue this journey under the unnecessary burden of belief that you must belong to a church, either to be saved or to live a Christian life. It may be that the Spirit will lead you to another church of some kind, for some period of time. Don't get too comfortable in that pew! Keep your spiritual ears open for that small, still voice that leads you forward, often into uncharted waters. What most pastors won't tell you is that the true church of Christ is an invisible, global, 'virtual church' as we'd call it today, made up of sincere believers who want to do more than sit and listen once a week.

Okay, you're prepared to forego the familiar church paradigm; now what? I think it's still important to fellowship with Christ-seeking believers, but keep an open mind about where to find them. It might be a 'prayer and share group' that meets every week or second week at someone's house. Today, you might well find them on the Internet; there are all kinds of on-line ministries that cater to various niche groups. My advice is to 'stay generic'--don't get roped into another denominational web. I can assure you UNEQUIVOCALLY that there is NO church in existence that is doctrinally 'pure' and has 'the truth.' Some churches have more truth than others. Some believers have less truth but live a Christ-centered, love-based life. I think I'd trade off doctrinal purity if I could find genuine, loving believers, wouldn't you? Oh--you're one of those sticklers for doctrine who wants to walk in the assurance that your church has all the answers? Well, you'll have to bang your head on church walls a long time before you finally get it, then.

Ignorance is Bliss... Isn't It?

There is a peculiar character trait of the human race (speaking generally) whereby information of a disturbing or unpleasant nature is simply ignored or altogether rejected. It's so well known these days that almost anyone can use the expression 'going into denial' in a sensible context. Yet, no matter how much we acknowledge the phenomenon, it doesn't for a moment reduce its incidence. This is a very unfortunate characteristic, one that will end in tragedy for the whole human race.

As a quintessential demonstration of the folly of psychological denial, we have the epic story of the Titanic, the 'unsinkable' ocean liner that sank on its maiden voyage. This story is so emblematic that it became almost a fable of the 20th Century, being the subject of numerous books and several major cinematic movies. Audiences don't seem to tire of the rehearsal of 'our' collective stubbornness in accepting the limitations of our technologies, the power of natural forces, and weaknesses in our ingenuity. Yet, we put down the novels, walk out of the theatres, and just carry on as usual, back in denial mode with scarcely a fleeting pang of self-doubt. So what is it about disturbing news that makes us retreat, turtle-like, into the shell of denial? We are at least clever enough to know that by denying the bad news it will only get worse, and eventually we will be forced to deal with the worse news. Then, why can't we simply accept the bad news now, knowing full well that it will put us in a much better position to deal with it?

Obvious questions, but elusive answers! The solution lies buried deep in the subconscious realms of the human psyche. But, clearly, denial as a coping strategy is a very childish response. The constant reliance on denial as a means of 'surviving' modern life indicates how irresponsible the general populace has become, and how immature humanity behaves at a group level. In fact, anyone who speaks up and declares openly that 'the Emperor has no clothes,' that things are hardly improving despite today's gadgetry, that the future is not, as the officials purr, going to be bright, is denounced as being negative and a cock-eyed pessimist. We don't just dislike hearing bad news--we don't want to hear it, period. Just as the Old Testament prophets were rejected, even stoned, today's masses want a constant stream of 'feel-good' news to sooth their information-overloaded nerves. And most of these optimists make no apologies; they've developed a litany of 'affirmative mantras' that they trust will propel them to wealth, health, and blessed bliss. Many will take steps to ensure that they run little risk of being confronted with genuine news from the real world, with its crime, disasters, scandals, and forecasts of more.

Maybe some of you readers think, sure, this is a positive, practical way of living; better than dwelling on all that negative crap. There's a ring of truth to that view, but in today's context, it is a death trap. What do I mean? Let's consider today's context. That frame of reference is no longer a local neighborhood or the city where you happen to live. If that were still true, you could blissfully get on with your life regardless of the bad news in other parts of the country or the world. But today, we don't have that ingenuous luxury. Today's world is a small globe whirling thru space, whereon a disaster in one place can have effects in far-off places. When the nuclear reactors of Chernobyl, Ukraine, melted down, the resulting cloud of irradiated dust spread for hundreds of kilometers, raising cancer rates among citizens of far-off countries. It is a childish illusion to think that by putting a hand before our eyes that the menace no longer exists... even when that menace arises on the other side of the planet.

Why am I harping on this denial syndrome? Because I believe that the world is heading--in fact, being directed--down a path that is leading to global disaster on several levels at once. And, that the catastrophe that awaits, is very soon--within our lifetimes, certainly, but probably within the decade.

'Where's the proof?' the skeptics and good news bears demand. This response almost makes me laugh, but the situation is much too serious for levity. We are like intelligent frogs in a sauce-pan: the heat is rising precipitously, but we not only adjust our psyches to adapt to the heat-- we deny that the water is starting to boil. How can anyone help such irrational creatures? The proofs are all around us, in every newspaper and TV newscast, daily. Even tho the news media themselves know that audiences want good news, they can't help carry a flood of bad news stories in every edition, because there's an overwhelming amount to report. Those who demand proof are those with no memories; the shell-shocked survivors of hyper-paced 21st Century living, who are so caught up chasing the dollars that they have no recollection of yesterday's news. And since they don't want to be reminded, then they have no awareness of today's review of the facts.

What the facts reveal clearly is a sharp rise (in historical terms) of average global temperatures over the last century; a rise in the frequency and strength of hurricanes and tornadoes; a rise in volcanic and seismic activity. These events have given rise, in turn, to droughts, forest fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods--all of increasing severity over the last decades. For some, this overview is not deemed 'proof.' They are able to refer to official baffle-gab from harlot scientists assuring us that everything is just fine, thank you: these are just cyclical events, they are due to 'better reporting,' and they are simply statistical variances. By now, even the official voices are admitting that global warming is a genuine phenomenon and yes, causes climatic disruptions. Well, that's just marvellous! We've got the leaders to acknowledge that problem--now that it's too far gone to lend itself to any achievable reduction by human action.

I used to worry about greenhouse gas emissions and their effect on global warming. Not any more. It's pointless, because the latest news is that there are far more pressing, ineluctable phenomena unfolding in the universe, that will dwarf the gas emissions problem into insignificance. That's right; this planet is facing a new, silently approaching cataclysm that will, almost inevitably, spell the end of life as we know it on Earth. I'm not saying that humanity will be wiped out; but the race will be so severely decreased that it will be virtually starting over in a new age (or New Age, if you are of that persuasion).

At this point, the last, persistent optimist readers will sign off with a sigh at the awful smell of bad news in the air. So, this message will benefit those few skeptics who are curious, and the good, ole pessimists and bad news bears who regard this as entertainment. ;-)

So, what is this impending doom, anyway? That's the big-buck question for the studio audience. Okay; the short answer is no-one knows for sure. However, when you study dozens of prognostications, from dozens of diverse, even contending, sources, you can discern an emerging pattern presenting an imprecise picture, one that becomes more distinct with literally every passing day and its breaking news stories from near and far. It is highly perturbing, while somehow exciting in a bizarre way.

For an exploration of the nature of the coming catastrophe, I refer the reader to my essay 'Apocalypse Soon?' (it's worth reading, especially if you're new to this theory).

What my essay does not probe into is details on how the global Conspiracy (the NWO Illuminati) is propelling events in the human sphere, while simultaneously delving into technologies that are messing with Earth's atmosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere (crustal layer). Quite likely, that statement will strike the normal citizen's ear as hyperbole, and hence, not to be given any credence. Again, I would have taken that stance several years ago--but not today. We must get our minds to accept that we no longer live in a 'business as usual' world. Everything has accelerated, and the contrasts are starting to emerge clearly from the panorama. Just as in the parable of Jesus, the wheat and 'tares' (weeds) have been growing together for many centuries, intermingled and difficult to distinguish from one another. But the harvest draws nigh, and the tares are showing their virulent fruit for what it really is. Soon, even the sleep-walkers will be jarred awake, and everyone will know the wolves from the lambs.

But enough allegory; what about some details? As I wrote before, the Conspirators have devoted their efforts to the key player on the international scene, and have seized control of the one-time bastion of democracy, now the prime exporter of predatory capitalism at its worst. Using and abusing the rule of law, like modern Pharisees, they have been imposing their self-serving agenda everywhere. Using international organizations like the World Bank, the WTO, etc, they have been insinuating the infrastructure for a one-world governance. It may not end up looking like the picture most people conjure up, but that suits the Conspirators fine... just so long as they are running the show, that's what matters to them.

Imagine a world in which your food sources are all owned by a handful of megalithic corporations. Far fetched? If the likes of Monsanto have their way, they will own patents on genetically 'improved' (messed up) versions of not just crops, but even livestock, and moreover, force farmers in most countries to use their freakish creations in place of the former natural ones. You can see the pieces of this puzzle being assembled in typical Illuminati fashion, country by country, taking decades if necessary.

Continue imagining a world where natural forces seem to punish regions that do not cooperate with the NWO (New World Order) agenda, while rewarding those that comply. There are many credible individuals who are convinced that unknown persons have been directing the spawning, the strength, and the paths of hurricanes in the Atlantic ocean, and have also, according to some, precipitated the deadly earthquakes that struck SE Asia in Dec./04 and Oct./05 (and possibly others, too). It's hard to believe. I'm not sure I'm convinced yet. But, I will keep my eyes and ears open, and I will place each new piece of news onto the puzzle board, and stand back to see the big picture.

Referring to my essay on 'Apocalypse Now?,' I think the more likely scenario is that the extreme disasters that have struck in recent years are attributable to the approach of a normally distant planet that is now returning to visit its more 'typical' celestial neighbors orbiting the sun. Due to the nature of the 'etheric field' permeating space, 'Planet X' is generating disturbances on all the planets, and on Earth those effects are manifesting as extreme weather conditions, tectonic changes, and warping of the magnetosphere. It is now apparent that much of the current global warming is actually being driven by heat generated in the Earth's core. Conventional science has no explanation for it. More worrisome, the sun too is being disturbed, and exhibiting greatly increased energy output, which is causing solar particle outbursts that extend rapidly to Earth's proximity, causing disruptions in communications and, some suspect, in the power grids... not to mention other effects that we don't even know yet.

This is not to say that the Conspirators aren't attempting to manipulate the climate and tectonic plates with experimental techniques of their own. They may be trying to 'channel' the unstable patterns towards their own targets. It doesn't matter, at this point. The germane fact is that living conditions on this planet are heading towards the 'unbearable' range, in terms of the political-economic environment, and the natural biosphere. Far from the utopian future happily described by optimistic prognosticators and apostles of progress, what we are really rushing towards is a calamitous date with destiny. It will not be pleasant; and soon, group denial will no longer be an option. It's no longer 'Good news or bad news; it's 'Bad news or worse news'--much worse than most of us can imagine, even with our Hollywood-conditioned minds. You can start facing up to ugly reality now... or wake up, rudely, to be overwhelmed by it later. As always, the choice is yours/ours.

The Conspiracy Meets The Apocalypse

In the last posting, we constructed a plausible (to me) scenario for the physical phenomena and events that could be expected in the indeterminate future of our planet. Now, some of the sources I studied talk not only about the physical events, but also about political events. For instance, there's the well-known 'Christian' predictions about a so-called 'Anti-Christ', identified somehow by that mysterious number, 666, and so on. Added to those images from Revelation, they have concocted a story about a 'secret rapture' of true believers prior to a seven-year period of 'tribulation.' An enormous amount of sheer nonsense has been written, and even cast into ludicrous movies, on this subject, until both Christians and others are either totally confused or totally deluded (or both). The 'Evangelical business ministries' have made fortunes peddling this Biblical gibberish to gullible people who haven't bothered to really study the Bible themselves. You might guess that I'm skeptical about such scenarios. :-)

Those 'Christian' stories are so bizarre that most people toss them into the same bin as the predictions of the New Agers and the 'alien cult' proponents, who claim that humanity is nearing a transition phase from our present energy state to a higher 'vibration' wherein we will finally achieve the peace we think we long for. They used to talk about the 'Age of Aquarius,' but now it's more about crop diagrams and aliens from other worlds. Well, the Hindus, too, talk about the end of the present 'Kali yuga' and the coming start of a new cycle to be characterized by a higher level of human consciousness. So in fact there may be something to that line of speculation. One could even suppose that the Christian outlook is really talking allegorically about the advent of 'Christ consciousness' at the end of this age. The thing is, no-one really knows for sure; so to insist that is will be exactly such and so, is to impose blinders on one's awareness. There are too many people with such self-imposed blinders and filters on their perceptions, already.

Yet there are some sinister things happening at a rapid pace before our eyes, that provide a basis for reasonable projection based on the lessons of history and the familiar predilections of this mad race. Referring back to my essays on The Conspiracy, one can try to connect the physical manifestations with the political manipulations. Perhaps it is simply coincidence that at the very time when the Conspirators are in a position to finally achieve their nefarious goal of world dominion, the world they want to rule is in peril of total destruction. Perhaps. I think there's more to it than that; but it doesn't matter much at this point. Some observers posit that the Dark Side are, themselves, precipitating some of the disasters that are hitting various parts of the globe. It's possible; the Bible's Revelation talks about Christ coming to deal with 'those who destroy the Earth.' Let's speculate on how they could pursue their agenda in a few, final, swift moves.

The anticipated 'next terrorist attack' on US soil suddenly occurs-- a 'dirty bomb' explodes in a major city, and hundreds of people are killed immediately, thousands are injured, and commercial buildings are damaged over a wide area. The President of the USA holds an emergency press conference and declares martial law on a 'temporary basis,' given the severity of the situation. Suspected subversives are forthwith rounded up and interned in isolated camps, as if lists and facilities had been planned in advance. With the cabinet now on an overt war footing, the Administration starts taking measures to ensure their dominance of the US and the whole world. They don't try to install a one-world government; they simply dictate to the UN what they want to see, and then by means of technological and military blackmail, they expect it to be done. In every country those individuals and agencies that have worked to oppose 'globalization' and capitalist interests (WTO, etc.) will be rounded up and interned indefinitely. The US military will 'enlist' all manner of bad actors who have a broad range of psycho-social disorders, but who share a weakness for hating 'them'-- the framed 'instigators' of terrorism designated by the White House masterminds. These psychopaths will then be put in uniforms, given weapons, and authority over the internment camps... and we will witness a repeat of the worst of WW-II's atrocities. How do I know? Because that's what happened in Nazi Germany, and we've no reason to presume that Americans are different from Germans in terms of fundamental character traits. The infamous Nazi leadership was full of individuals with various ego deficiencies, sociopathic traits, sexual deviancy, occultists, and so on. Not a healthy bunch to be at the controls of a crushing war machine.

Meanwhile, the Earth's geo-climatical state grows more perilous. Super-storms materialize all over, causing great damage and loss of life by wind and flood. Earthquakes in the 4.0 to 8.5 range are now common, and occurring in almost every region on earth. It's no longer possible to send rescue missions to help the affected areas because there are fewer and fewer places that remain unaffected and capable of providing external aid. People know 'something's wrong,' but those in charge are still not telling the general populace about the approach of the comet, planet X. Why the secrecy about something so dire? To avoid panic? No-- to forestall financial meltdown! The avaricious Conspirators are busy buying and hoarding possessions at a furious pace while people think it's still worth something. It would hardly be useful to the Putsch to let people know that, realistically, there's a good chance that the whole game is coming to a sudden end. Of course, they think that somehow they can use their money and power to survive the coming catastrophe while most 'ordinary people' will perish.

At some point, the Conspiracy declares that all debts owed by the US government are now cancelled. Creditors holding US debt instruments are left with worthless paper. Since the US dollar is essentially an IOU from the federal Reserve, it too is worthless. But the Conspirators have developed a plan. People can register with their co-opted banks and obtain some sort of 'smart card' that will allow them to store 'credits' that can be exchanged for necessary goods and services. These smart cards will be required for all commerce and will give the Conspirators absolute economic control over the population. It's conceivable that, in lieu of a smart card, microscopic RFID modules ('chips') could be inserted subcutaneously, even in the guise of innoculations against any of the new strains of virus that health authorities have been concerned about. (Here's where the Bible speculators get excited about 'the mark of the beast' which is found in the forehead or the hand.)

Conditions on Earth become unbearable under the onslaught of a myriad of 'plagues' triggered by the errant planet/comet. Pretty soon, the space intruder's presence cannot be hidden, and everyone can see the mysterious reddish cross, first in the night sky, then even in broad daylight. The Conspiracy starts to unravel as lackeys realize that they've been deliberately deceived by their 'protectors.' The great majority who had swallowed their doubts to support the false claims of the Conspiracy for peace and victory over 'terrorists,' now see plainly that those leaders are self-serving monsters with no regard for anything but their personal glorification. It's an ugly scene as the angry crowds go after the Conspirators with vengeance their focus.

After that, my crystal ball gets so foggy that it's completely obscure. This is where the Christians expect Christ to appear for his second coming. This is around the point where the New Agers expect to be transformed to a higher consciousness. In the lore of aboriginals and some Eastern traditions, this may mark the cross-over from one age to the next. There may be a flip in the Earth's axis, accompanied by monumental upheavals causing the death of billions of people. The foolish, materialistic Illuminati will see the utter destruction of all they have labored over centuries to bring about. Material possessions and vast fortunes of 'wealth' will prove to be worthless; only 'spiritual values' will have enduring quality in a world destroyed and reduced to a primordial stage. The path of greed, me-first, will be revealed as self-defeating and futile. Only the way of giving, of service to others will remain as eternal.

Okay-- that's the core of my end-times scenario. You may be totally incredulous at this point, and that's fine. But things are moving fast-- keep your eyes and ears on the news, and watch thoughtfully as events unfold. And then remember: you read it here first! ;-)

A Possible Scenario

Suppose one wanted to propose a scenario that would encompass the primary points of agreement of most of the major Apocalyptic prophecies-- what would it look like? Here's my stab at constructing such an 'end times' sketch.

My vision is based on these main pieces of information:

  • - Zecharia Sitchin's books (The Earth Chronicles series, and The Lost Book of Enki)
  • - Immanuel Velikovsky's books (Earth in Upheaval and Worlds in Collision)
  • - The Bible
  • - Prophecies of Mother Shipton; the Hopi and other natives of N.A.; the Mayan calendar; and others.
  • - the new physics proposed by David Wilcock and Richard Hoagland ('hyperdimensional physics') and their consequent writings.

As a starting point, I take the postulated return to the 'inner solar system' of a planet with comet-like trajectory, called Nibiru by some, or Planet X, a tenth member of our sun's orbiting bodies. Let's suppose that, as claimed by some pundits, this planet is returning from its far-off apogee towards its perigee, close to the sun. I also accept the hyperdimensional view that as X approaches, it is starting to have effects on all the familiar nine planets--effects that are measurable by our technology and seen as changing noticeably within just the last few decades. Most worrisome, it is having effects on Earth that are becoming more and more problematic. For example, this very day that I write this, the news carried stories about hurricane 'Wilma's' destructive actions in the Carribean, as well as about a major earthquake in Pakistan. Another 'coincidence?' Or, as Wilcock's model suggests, a fully expected pairing of disasters occurring at predictable points on the globe?

In the next few years, as planet X draws closer, we will experience a growing number of 'disasters' in various places on Earth, and they will be of increasing severity. It's curious how Hollywood has, in similar fashion, been releasing cinematic depictions of such disasters at an increasing rate and dealing with more universal catastrophes. Is there some 'cosmic conscious' force that influences the imaginations of the movie makers, causing them to create these stories that telegraph a message of warning to Earth's inhabitants? At the same time, there has been another of these 'growing' phenomena manifesting in the last decade or so-that is the appearance of 'crop diagrams.' (I don't call them 'circles' because they are far more complex than circles). These enigmatic diagrams appearing largely in crop fields in England, the USA, Canada, and other countries, seem to be presenting a message of some kind to humankind. What exactly it is isn't clear. Serious students suggest that they come from an alien race of 'observers' who are warning us of some impending 'event.' One thing you have to admit (once you've understood that no human means could possibly create these diagrams, in the time intervals recorded), and that is that these designs represent a good way to convey essential information to the whole populace without risk of censorship from nebulous human forces that would want to block such warnings.

So, we have these physical manifestations affecting the whole solar system, at the same time as various psychological-psychic messages seeming to try to prepare humanity for some kind of future crisis. Very interesting, to say the least. Many cultures on Earth have legends or prophecies that describe an eventual end of the present 'age' or era of mankind. Most of those depict a cataclysmic end of some kind, in which the majority of the race is destroyed and a remnant survive to start the next cycle. Now, if planet X were zooming from outer space towards Earth, what would we expect? Not surprisingly, the expected results would be basically what we are seeing today. Projecting further ahead to a closer encounter, we can expect, based on Velikovsky's work, a number of effects that will cause tremendous loss of life. These effects are...

  • - huge, widespread earthquakes, destroying many cities and generating huge tsunamis that destroy many coastal regions;
  • - eruption of numerous volcanoes, on land and sea, spewing much material;
  • - possible disruption of the Earth's rotation, including changes to day-length;
  • - possible tilting of the Earth on its axis, even a full reversal (inversion);
  • - probable deadly rains of meteors, debris in the trail of planet X;
  • - possible rains of other material flung off from the passing 'comet.'

These effects are all consistent with phenomena Velikovsky reconstructed from historic and physical evidence, and are consistent with descriptions written by the unschooled Mother Shipton, a poor seer living in the 13th century. They are also within the scope of descriptions scattered in the Bible's various prophecies, tho I would not want to make a big case on the basis of those disjointed, often deliberately vague verses. Like the writings of Nostradamus, the scriptures are best interpreted in retrospect, after an event has occurred.

According to Sumerian writings, Nibiru's appearance in the night sky was as a reddish cross, or as depicted by the Egyptians, a 'winged disk.' Since the earliest days of religion, the cross has played an important part, not just since the days of Jesus. In his 'Olivet discourse,' Jesus told his followers to look up, at the end of the age, and see the 'sign of the Son of Man' drawing nigh. Is it unreasonable to make a connection between the approach of Nibiru and its consequent disasters with the 'Second Coming of Christ' as he described it? Note that as a result of the effects cited above, the volcanic smoke could 'blot out the sun' in the daytime, and give the moon a bloody hue at night. A deluge of meteors would certainly appear as if the stars were falling from the heavens, as noted in the Bible. If Velikovsky's views are right, ferruginous material cast into the atmosphere from a great comet might ignite from volcanic sparks and appear as fire falling from the skies. In any case, the material would dye the waters of Earth a bloody red color, exactly as described in prophecies and in the Egyptian plagues. In the Mother Shipton verses, she attributes the closing cataclysms as due to a passing comet, and after describing its disastrous passing, indicates that it returns for a second blast of destruction seven years after the first blows. The interval may be symbolic or literal, but the dual passages are consistent with the swing around the sun of a body having a highly elliptical orbit with a major portion of it spent in deep space.

Finally, note that an inversion in the Earth's axis would place the northern stars in the southern hemisphere and vice-versa, while also causing the sun to make its traverse in the opposite direction (ie. west to east). Again, this would validate the prophecies calling for 'a new heavens and a new Earth.' Incidentally, there is no reason for the Christian reader to presume that God cannot accomplish everything predicted in scripture using the agency of 'natural phenomena' (as opposed to so-called miracles).

The conclusion I want to leave with the reader is that at this time we have a disparate collection of strong pieces of evidence, any one of which, on its own, could be easily dismissed as idle speculation. However, juxtaposed as interlocking pieces of a puzzle, they form a remarkably solid panorama. We would ignore such a chilling tableau at our everlasting regret and peril.

Apocalypse Soon?

For several decades now, I've studied prophecies about the 'end of the world.' These predictions come from a wide variety of sources-- from religions of all kinds, from so-called myths of many cultures, from mystic and 'occult' sources, and so on, wherever I found them. Altho raised a Christian, I have no special allegiance to any of the prophecies, and do not use any one of them as a benchmark or litmus test of truth. Therefore, I feel qualified to offer my unbiased opinions on the subject of 'end times' prophecy.

The first thing I'd say is that I'm struck by the high degree of similarity that these prophecies share. This is all the more remarkable considering the diversity of their origins in terms of place, culture, and era.

Here are some of the major themes that recur in the world-wide prophecies:

  • - Earth will experience an encounter with a 'comet' or 'rogue planet' (often called 'Planet X') that passes close enough to cause tremendous catastrophes globally;
  • - the passing of the celestial body causes upheavals in the earth, oceans, and sky, such as...
  • - immense tidal waves that completely destroy all coastal and low-lying lands, and the cities therein;
  • - widespread and unprecedented earthquakes that will destroy virtually every construct of mankind;
  • - eruption of multiple volcanoes, spewing lava, ash, and smoke;
  • - violent winds that whip the earth, carrying debris and dust into the atmosphere;
  • - there will be great loss of life all over the world;
  • - it will mark a major shift in human consciousness or psychic evolution; some call it a translation to a 'higher density' or dimension.

What's equally remarkable (besides the consensus) is the way these prophetic pictures (as summarized above) match the physical descriptions constructed by Immanual Velikovsky of similar celestial catastrophes that have happened in recorded historical times. Due to the disparity of the sources, most of them could not possibly have been aware beforehand of the work of this brilliant, iconoclastic scholar who dared to propose theories that went beyond the bounds of orthodoxy... in not just one, but several academic disciplines.

However, all of these observations are more than just of academic interest. Because the chilling fact is that many of the prophecies tend to converge on a time frame that is coming very soon. For example, there is a now-well-known 'Mayan Calendar' that indicates the end of the present 'cycle' (many cultures view life as cyclical) about December of 2012. Consider that even 'conservative scientists' are now willing to speak up and speculate that, given no reduction in global warming, the climate is headed for some kind of 'crash.' While the doctrine known as 'uniformitarianism' (ie. the universe is well-behaved and everything goes as it's always gone) has been unassailable since Darwin's day, some brave scientists are finally admitting that cosmic disasters are indeed a possible cause of world changes, such as mass extinctions, mountain formation, and climate shifts. Others are sounding alarms over the weakening of the earth's magnetic field-- a harbinger, they say, of a coming reversal of poles. Space researchers are noting increasingly strong measurements in solar characteristics, such as sunspots, coronal discharges, magnetic field, plasma, etc. These solar features have a definite impact on Earth and its planetary characteristics.

The last point needs elaboration. Not only is the sun itself, center of our solar system, exhibiting noticeable energetic changes, but so is every member of the system! Measurements have been kept on our cosmic neighbors long enough to ascertain that they are showing changes in observable features. Like this planet, Mars is also experiencing global warming with measureable effects. The outer, giant planets are showing increasing luminosity, and some of their moons are getting rapidly warmer. Pluto too is growing warmer despite moving toward apogee. Why is the whole solar system becoming more energetic? It's still a mystery. But some commentators speculate that it's due to the approach towards the sun of the fabled Planet X, (called Nibiru by the ancient Sumerians), from its very long, comet-like sojourn in the distant reaches of our system. Well why should the still-distant arrival of a solar visitor cause such wide-ranging disruptions to the 'normal' pattern? That's a good question-- one that needs another long essay to properly answer. However, let me attempt a succinct summary of the brilliant research of David Wilcock and Richard Hoagland on this very subject. (Refer to www.divinecosmos.com and www.enterprisemission.com for details).

What Wilcock states is that the universe behaves in a much different manner than that complex school concocted since the 'scientific revolution', based on electro-dynamics, 'quantum mechanics', 'relativity theory,' and so on. Instead, he has noticed that the universe shows amazing geometric regularity, in what Hoagland calls 'hyperdimensional geometry,' based on the Platonic solids. These are the 3-D polygonal figures that fit exactly within a sphere. There are precise points where the vertices of the polygonal solids intersect the surface of the sphere, and on the sun and planets, these points are sites of particular energy characteristics. Wilcock postulates a model of reality wherein 'as above, so below;' in other words, matter behaves the same at the universal level as at the sub-microscopic level. In this model, there is a medium or rather field that permeates all of space and which possesses odd characteristics. In this field, some things can travel at virtually infinite speed because mass is not a factor. One outcome of this model (without going into any detail) is that the spiral is a naturally occurring feature. From galaxies to nautilus shells, the spiral emerges spontaneously by the sheer mathematics of reality (the Fibonnaci series, the harmonic progression). It also happens that angular momentum becomes highly influential in this model. That is a key factor, and the one that explains why a small planet, acting at a great distance, can have enormous effects on its fellow bodies in space.

Using Wilcock's elegant model (one is urged to read it, however difficult it may be) it is obvious (at least) that a body in a very elliptical orbit could exert profound influence on the sun and the other planets due to the fact that it possesses a large 'angular momentum'-- basically a product of velocity, radius and mass, where velocity is a vector quantity having point-speed, and direction (think of a yo-yo on a long string). So, even a relatively small body, moving rapidly from a long distance, interacts with other objects in the common, 3-D field... in this case, the 'heliosphere' of our system's sun. That influence is felt as an increase in the energy of the system. Why hasn't it been felt before now; why is it increasing? I don't know, frankly. But I can speculate that it has to do with the highly eccentric orbit that Nibiru is described as having. This orbit has been recreated from careful study of the Sumerian and Akkadian texts by the scholar Zecharia Sitchin. It appears that the tenth planet has a retrograde orbit, meaning it orbits clockwise (as observed from our north pole) rather than counter-clockwise as all the other planets. Second, Nibiru (or 'X') has an orbit that is highly inclined to the ecliptic, the plane of the orbits of Earth and most of the other planets (except Pluto, which also has an inclined orbit). Third, Nibiru's orbit is extremely elongated, like that of a comet, spending the majority of its period in deep space, far from the sun, and then plunging close to the sun for a very short time. Sitchin believes that its period is equal to 3600 Earth years, and gave rise to the Sumerian use of a sexigesimal number system (ie. base 60) as opposed to our modern decimal system.

It may be that the combined effect of these characteristics of Nibiru result in an acceleration of its effects on the energy of the heliosphere as it nears perihelion. That would also seem to help explain why some cultures believe in a regular, periodic upheaval of the Earth and the start of a new cycle. Whatever the mechanism, the presently observed instability in Earth's weather-- in conjunction with increased tectonic activity-- are certainly in keeping with the 'Divine Cosmos' model and the approach of an eccentric solar visitor. More than that, the predicted events for the Earth and its hapless life forms are also consistent with effects that would be produced by the accelerating approach of a cometary planet as it moves around its major focal point, the sun. All very fascinating... in a scary sort of way!

Reading all the predictions from my unorthodox Christian viewpoint, I couldn't help noticing that the various ancient, 'New Age,' and occult beliefs talk about this 'transition' for the human race, from our present, rather beastly condition, to a higher, more 'spiritual' plane of existence. For some schools of thought, it seemed that the few survivors of the next catastrophe would be so shaken as to somehow elevate themselves into this new state. For others, the idea seemed to be that 'spirit guides' of some sort-- regarded as 'aliens' from other planets, or else beings from a spiritual dimension-- would intervene to assist the survivors into this next state of existence. Of course, the normal Christian outlook is that Jesus will return and claim those who are 'saved' (by professing a belief/trust in him) and then establish a 'new Earth and a new heavens.' This is about all one can say unequivocally on the subject because anything more strays immediately into the realm of Biblical speculation and personal interpretation. Those who rhapsodize on the wonders of 'the Secret Rapture' are really foremost among the speculators, because a proper reading of the few texts on the subject make it clear that there is nothing secret about Christ's return to Earth, nor does such an event take place before a so-called 'seven years of tribulation.' (This assertion will upset some readers, but I urge them to actually read what the words say, not what the fast-buck Evangelical salesmen tell them it says!)

At this stage, the next logical question becomes: Why haven't 'they' told us all these things? Excellent question, that; Why indeed? This question marks the point where this essay intersects my previous ones on the subject of 'The Conspiracy.' Some readers will simply find it too incredible that authorities and scientists around the world would keep such knowledge hidden from the populace. Yes, I agree, it seems unbelievable all right. Yet, I've been fed too many 'official lies' in recent years, and seen too much deliberate institutional deception to doubt the willingness to deceive people. What's harder to comprehend is that they could actually achieve it. After all, you'd expect that there'd be some leaks, somewhere. In fact, there are leaks-- and they're happening on the Internet. The official channels are virtually under the domination of the Conspirators, and they sure don't want to get people excited about a possible end of the world as we (and they) know it. So, they lean on their lackeys, the CEOs of the media outlets, and they pretend that we live in a uniformitarian world, despite the crashing sound of disasters coming ever closer to the modern Babylon, the new Rome. Since Nibiru is expected to approach from the southern skies, the scientists seem to devote their attention to the northern skies and not surprisingly, find nothing more worrisome than the odd asteroid or small comet. There is no doubt that NASA (for instance) is 'managing' the information it releases from its various probes, such as the Mars rovers. The only source of unmanaged, raw data is the web; and the problem there is that there are so many eager interpreters, with their particular hobby-horses to ride. However, it is far preferable to have this babble of unrestrained voices guarding the raw data while superimposing their favorite theories, than to rely on the soothing monotones of the paid-off spokespersons.

That's why the Christian scriptures can predict that the disaster will come like a thief in the night, despite the technologies at our disposal. Yet, do we really need the web to inform us that, hey, something strange is going on? If people were not so enmeshed in material pursuits, 'trying to earn a living,' 'getting ahead,' that they have no time or inclination, they would simply observe the world around them in a rational manner. To those that do so, it is obvious that something's afoot in the universe. Are these the footsteps of the Creator, echoing ahead of His immanent return to inspect a crumbling society of straying humanity? Time will tell-- maybe much sooner than most people ever imagined!

The Conspiracy - Addendum 1

There are plenty of commentators-- many of them quite prescient in some ways-- who insist that almost every part of modern culture is corrupted and directed by the secret society that they've identified as the ultimate conspiracy. There's often a certain ring of veracity in some of those claims; but too often, they're just too sweeping, too hyperbolic to be patently true. And because of the air of exaggeration or excitement behind them, the majority of hearers tend to dismiss the allegations totally, as obviously over-wrought. Wary skeptics throw out the whole message, while the gullible and paranoid swallow the whole. Well, hold on there! Maybe there is some worthwhile truth in the claims, if not in totality. As I've said elsewhere, if the conspirators are a society like the Illuminati, then they've had plenty of time and experience to work on their game plan. They are expert opportunists-- the ultimate, in fact. They are masters at setting up competing systems that appear to be diametrically opposed to each other. That's one reason why it's so hard to detect their trail. After all, are they on the 'left' or the 'right?' With the religious or the atheists? And so on. In fact, they're behind both, or all.

Isn't that counter-productive for them? Not at all. When you measure progress in centuries or decades, playing both sides against the middle is diabolically clever. So much human capital is consumed in these struggles of opposing ideologies; so much misery caused; so much cynicism engendered. It all plays into the hands of the puppet masters and furthers their master plan. They've learned how to make money in good times and in chaos; when markets are up, and when they're down. These canny wolves take advantage of every situation, be it a coronation or a crisis. They love to foster wars, where they can back both sides until a winner is inevitable, then quietly retire with more riches for their vast stores... and a new global chess board on which to create further gains of wealth and power.

We ordinary folks find it quite unbelievable that any group of individuals could possibly operate so smoothly, so clandestinely, so successfully for so many years... and not slip up and be exposed. Yes, it does stretch one's credulity, I agree. That's the part I find hard to swallow, too. The lesson of history is that evil always, eventually implodes on itself. It's the very nature of evil that nothing and no-one can be trusted; therefore, the guy at the top is always betrayed by a scheming subordinate who wants to replace him. Corruption is another word for rot, and all corrupt entities rot and decay-- they simply can't last forever, by the very laws inherent in the universe. And altho this present cancer has been around a long time, it too shall pass. But not before causing a great deal of destruction.

You have to wonder: since these ultra-conspirators are so fiendishly clever, and can foresee the outcomes of many of their sick plots-- then why don't they see that they're ultimately doomed? Alas, it's a mystery. In fact, the Bible refers to it as 'the mystery of iniquity' because there seems to be no logical reason behind it. It's like mankind's apparent unconscious urge towards self-destruction; so caught up do some of us get in the mad race to accumulate wealth and power before the death we all know is coming, that nothing else seems to matter-- not even the futility of it all. Evil fails eventually; but it's a question of time. Some dictatorships, for example, survive much longer than others.

How ‘They’ Thrive

So, while the Conspiracy is fated for final failure, it has endured long and has avoided the pitfalls that generally bring down any other, lesser manifestation of evil. Why? How have they managed this feat? Let's consider some factors working in their favor...

  • - having a very long-term goal helps keep the players focussed in one general direction-- especially when that goal is nothing less than world domination.
  • - they have had time to make some mistakes and learn from them and probably to cover them up.
  • - they are such a secret society that most of the members themselves are never fully clear who reports to whom; therefor it's never safe to try to dispose of another conspirator. This purposeful ambiguity is probably the main reason how they've been able to succeed yet not get exposed, even accidentally.
  • - they must have an equitable way of dividing the spoils from the interim, local victories, so that their members are satisfied to support the big plan.
  • - once the organization (to the extent one can label it so) reached a critical level of wealth and influence, it became easier to maintain the secrecy. If anyone dared threaten to defect or oppose the big plan, he could be removed, dispatched, or neutralized in any number of creative ways that could range from economic sanctions, to forced exile, to academic disgrace, up to 'mysterious disappearance' or death.
  • - once the conspirators gained influence over a few communications media, the role of 'disinformation' took on great importance. Should genuine revelations be made about the conspiracy, they can publish various authoritative books, newspaper articles, etc. that cast all kinds of rubbish on the story... and pretty soon, 'it's history,' as we say.

Don’t Look Now!

One measure of how successful the conspirators are, is the manner in which they enjoy flirting with the populace. For instance, they will use their secret or special codes and symbology in all kinds of curious ways (just think of the numerology behind '911' for a prime example!). Some pundits have noticed all kinds of 'occult' features embodied in the design of the street architecture of Washington DC (road angles and confluences that depict pentagrams, etc.). Designs on the US dollar bill have been identified as of an occult or Egytian origin-- yet I’ve never seen an 'official explanation' for those symbols. Investigators have found music album covers and books that presaged, uncannily, the attacks on the WTC twin towers. It's happening all the time, but we don't know until something happens, and then we might (with untypical awareness) notice signs that were pointing in advance to the event.

Deeper Dimensions

All of this discussion is to illustrate how insidious is the Conspiracy, how virtually impossible it is for anyone to deal with it. Now, let's take a bold step, in the face of such an intractable foe. In view of everything I've stated, it's not unimaginable to view the situation as having spiritual dimensions. After all, the mystery of iniquity is a spiritual phenomenon. The Illuminati Conspiracy bears all the hallmarks of a Satanically-inspired and directed agency. It is vague, dark, and operates behind the scenes. It prefers to achieve ends by exerting influence over people who are pawns in their nefarious game. It likes people to believe that it doesn't exist, for that makes things much easier for them. But for those who do believe, there's so much confusion and disinformation flying around that there's little chance of any effective action arising from them. The very name, Illuninati, is clearly related to 'Lighted Ones' (or Enlightened Ones) which harks to Satan's primary name, Lucifer, the Bearer of Light. (Another obvious example of how they subtly flirt). You may not believe in a Devil or God; yet you can't deny that the Conspiracy is a pervasive, negative, self-serving, vicious, greedy entity. I'm not trying to get anyone to abandon atheism if that's their outlook; just to suggest that, at a level beyond human reason, there appears to be a force expressing itself thru the human agency of a super-normal conspiracy.

To show my hand, I believe that all things will eventually be revealed; that evil cannot hide its true nature forever. The way things are progressing, I think it's going to be quite soon-- a matter of a few years, probably-- before everyone will see the Conspiracy in its true light, and its members for the vultures they are. Even now, as they make ever bolder moves with the desired goal in sight, there are many people who are seeing the truth emerging. Sincere individuals, troubled by the clearly self-defeating path pursued relentlessly by the current pawns, the US government, know in their souls that something evil is afoot. Only when the situation becomes fully catastrophic will the present willing and unwitting supporters of the Conspiracy realize the terrible error they have made. It will be too late for many. Martial law will remove all present personal rights, and open dissent will be impossible. Maybe then, even skeptics will acknowledge the spiritual nature of the battle, and turn to oppose this Evil by seeking the spirit of Good.

On The Conspiracy

For most of my life I have never given serious credence to any of the many ideas grouped under the general rubric of conspiracy theories. After all, one doesn't want to live with the constant paranoia engendered by such shadowy conspiracies as 'the Illuminati,' the Masons, the Trilateralists, the Jesuits, the international banking cartel, and so on, ad nauseum. Besides, such theories don't seem to be reflected in reality, in daily living. At least, not until recently did that seem to be true. Perhaps it's more than irony that I have achieved 'middle age' about the same time as the world has reached some sort of crisis point of its own.

I'd been getting pretty skeptical of all the large institutions that have come to dominate our society of the late 20th century-- government, big business, universities, etc. If I needed one, crucial event to push me over the edge, it was the 'attacks' of Sept. 11, 2001. Immediately, (once the initial shock wore off) I recognized this event as more than merely historic. It was going to be seen in retrospect, I reasoned, as a watershed, a loss of innocence for the human race. It was the event that pushed me into admitting what I'd avoided for years-- that, yes, there appears (at the least) to be a conspiracy operating behind the scenes of everyday life, a very evil, calculating, force of some kind that has some hidden, nefarious agenda whose nature is yet to be discovered. It sounds bizarre to the normal citizen-- just a sign of the insecurity of the times; a natural psychotic reaction to the stress of life in the 21st century. Or… could they be more to it?

We've become experts at rationalizing everything that threatens the delicate equilibrium of our tenuous, modern lives. Every day brings such a barrage of 'news,' of stories of all kinds assaulting our senses from various communications media, that we each develop our personal 'filters' that screen out anything that strikes us as 'off the wall,' outside our 'normal parameters' of thought. And the news comes in such a continuous, fast-paced torrent, that we just can't give any one story undivided attention for any more than mere minutes-- even one having the proportions of '9-11'. In fact, so stressed are we for precious time, that we invent short-hand phrases to denote all of these stories that come rushing at our harried minds. So, 9-11 (or 911) has already come to embody in 3 numbers a whole episode of multiple dimensions, each of which is a large story in its own right. When we say 'New Orleans' or 'Katrina,' we already know, mere days after the event, what disaster is being referred to. And so, the notion of a concerted conspiracy behind the momentous events of the last few years sounds too outlandish by many souls to be seriously considered, let alone believed.

Consider the Unthinkable

Yes, it'd be much simpler to just believe the unbelievable explanations handed out by the US government administration, and repeated with pathetically paltry circumspection by the big media outlets who effectively determine our collective views of reality. If you really want to find out details, minority opinions, alternative views, dissenting voices, you cannot rely on the big, 3-letter TV conglomerates to provide them. That's the awful truth-- you've got to get active and seek out those alternative views from other sources. Fortunately, these days we have (still, as of this date) a marvellous tool, called the Internet, or the worldwide web. When one starts to dig, tentatively, into the virtual world of the web, one soon discovers that there is a literally bewildering array of views, presented in a vast array of websites that range from the respectable to the bizarre.

In any case, I found that the figurative stench from the lying liars who are manipulating global events and world public opinion, was becoming so noxious and obvious that I didn't need the Internet to lead me to attribute it to a conspiracy. However, once admitting that there must be some kind of conspirators behind the scenes, the situation becomes quite murky and confusing. There are some very credible commentators who believe one theory or another, and can provide evidence that is more or less convincing for their allegations. Then, there are other, less mainstream sources who have some highly curious ideas of who the culprits are. Among the latter group, one must include the adherents of UFO-logy, extra-terrestrial visitors who, they claim, have made deals with certain national governments to assist them in gaining world domination. At this stage, I can't rule out any theory, no matter how incredible or novel it may seem at this stage.

Getting Started

What the dispassionate observer has before him/her, is an big array of seemingly disparate facts and theories, that at first, baffle the mind with their variety and novelty. However, as one persists in examining the panoply of 'evidence', certain threads or themes do begin to emerge from the mess. Not that I have any real, coherent grip on it yet; but it seems that, like a scrambled or 'pixilated' picture coming together gradually on a computer screen, the grand conspiracy theory is incrementally becoming integrated.

The first step is to spread the pieces out and examine them individually but in a cumulative manner-- to build up a database of available knowledge. By knowledge I include both measurable or verifiable fact as well as outright speculation. One has to assign a personal credibility factor to weight each of these bits of information.

The next step is to look for the patterns, the themes that skirt among the puzzle pieces. The proponents of each of the various theories is absolutely convinced that his/her paradigm is THE answer to the conundrums of the world. What the wary observer must do, I believe, is resist the temptation to compare and select a winner from among the competing theories. That is of course, what you are expected to do. Just as becoming a 'Christian' is supposed to require a decision as to which among the ridiculous array of 'churches' to attend or join. I have found, the hard way, that this pressure to choose a winner from a set of essentially identical or substitutable elements is a TRAP! It is a classic thinking trap. Once you grant assent to a single school of thought, you become its prisoner. It always comes with a prepackaged bundle of ideas that the novice is expected to adopt, wholesale, with full enthusiasm and little critical review. Once adopted, the prescribed paradigms define all of reality for the true believer, often very subtly, but always quite thoroughly.

Having learned this lesson from the 'religious' world, I am in a much better position to consider the range of views extant on the grating conspiracy question.

Some Basics

Now, to present some of the 'factoids' that pertain to the conspiracy problem...

  • - there is no shred of doubt left in my mind that '911' was perpetrated, not by foreign, Islamic fundamentalist terrorists, but by a cabal of powerful persons with connections to, and influence over, the White House administration.
  • - That the same cabal of conspirators also exert almost total control over the US mass media cannot be doubted by anyone who has a trace of intellectual honesty or discrimination.
  • - If anyone harbored any lingering notions that G.W. Bush is a 'compassionate Christian gentleman,' surely his demeanor in response to the destruction of New Orleans will have put them aside. It was a shocking revelation of a front-man for forces that have absolutely no regard for the lives of the poor masses who struggle for a living in the land of unparalleled wealth.
  • - looking back, one can recognize that the assassination of JF Kennedy was similarly engineered by the same forces who were bold enough to direct the tragedy of '911'.
  • - and if that last item be true, then it follows that the subsequent elimination of Bobby Kennedy was orchestrated by the same sinister forces. We could probably add the death of John Kennedy Jr. to the list of victims of this group, but it doesn't matter.
  • - every time a multinational corporation gets another privilege it doesn't deserve, another concession from some government somewhere, another obscene profit statement, it just cements in my mind how rotten the whole system, the entire world has become with the insidious, venomous rot spread by the minions, the acolytes of the shadowy conspirators.
  • - every time a new abuse by the agencies of the US gov't, or of the UN for that matter, are uncovered, some third-world country coerced into toeing the capitalist line, some flaunting of world convention by the USA, I see the mysterious hand of the conspirators in action.
  • - to anyone who has read more than one book on the phenomenon of 'UFOs,' it quickly becomes apparent that there is a concerted effort on the part of governments, particularly the US gov't, to not simply downplay it, but to utterly discredit and ridicule the whole issue. This attitude, completely uncalled for in light of the implications of its potential outcomes, has prevented any research that could settle the matter or at least cast light on it. To the list of simple 'light sightings,' one can now add the amazing spectacle of 'crop formations' (aka 'circles') that have become more and more complex since first appearance.

To my thinking, those are the principal pieces of evidence that make it increasingly clear that a coherent consciousness is manipulating the levers of power towards some unknown end.

Some Favorite Theories

Now, let's look at some of the major theories in circulation that purport to explain these observations noted above (from among a larger set)...

  • - there's always the Free Masons. While many influential leaders in the industrialized world have been and are members of the Masons, it is far from clear that they have the intention and the means to coordinate a conspiracy to rule the world. Still, they seem to be related to various groups that are less suspicious.
  • - the Illuminati are such a vague and shadowy organization that one can't be entirely sure that it really exists. If so, we are to believe that their few members have been orchestrating world domination over many centuries, so that their patience is entirely beyond the ken of the vast majority of mere humans.
  • - the NWO or New World Order seems to be a concept that became a reality with the election of certain right-wing presidents in recent times, and the promotion of their overarching scheme through the use of American military might in conjunction with American commercial might.
  • - just since 2000-- the last US presidential election-- we have been seeing stories of the strange fraternity known as the 'Skull and Bones' society, a secretive society of select Yale students that counts among its alumni GW Bush as well as JF Kerry.
  • - several earnest websites claim that there's solid proof that extra-terrestrial beings have made contact with US, Russian (previously, Soviet), and possibly other government leaders, and are assisting in secret plans to introduce one world government, etc.
  • - then there are numerous less credible theories that are often attributable to religious sects, that speculate about angels, demons, spirits, ‘Antichrist,’ ‘666,’ or what have you.
  • - there are probably many others, but these are the main ones that appear most often in the conspiracy web library.

Placing the Pieces

At first glance, these different theories may appear totally disjointed, having no common thread whatsoever. Yet, at second consideration, perhaps some coherence does begin to emerge. To begin with, nothing says that the possible choices are mutually exclusive. In fact, assuming that the Illuminists are as clever and long-term thinking as people believe, then they surely will have made the logical decision to use the organizations already holding power and influence... and then exert their own power and influence over these. So, I believe that whoever this fabled cabal of individuals is, they are exercising control over the Masons, the Trilateralists, the banking cartel, the governments (wherever necessary), and so on. The organizations may or may not be aware of this clandestine influence-- most likely only the 'dual agents' know for sure. As to whether alien (ie. extra-terrestrial) forces are somehow involved, well I don't want to say much about this, except that I wouldn't rule it out, no matter how outlandish it sounds to 'normal ears.' Nothing is normal any more.

Now, another important question to consider is this: where do you hide a conspiracy? Answer: in plain sight! This is an important lesson the Nazis handed down to their spiritual successors, those who would dominate the world, as for prime example, the NWO group. Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels understood that if you tell a lie, make it a whopper-- eventually it will simply be taken for granted, a background truth of the times. As incredible as this sounds to rational ears, it has proven to be amazingly accurate. The Nazis used the principle with gruesome results for the world. Today, the propaganda experts of the ‘White House’ (how's that for a euphemism in itself!) spin outrageous lies with nary a hint of compunction, in the face of bald evidence to the contrary. Yet, masses of American citizens support (whatever that really means) the president and his bushmen for a variety of reasons. What I'm saying is that, unlike the tyrannical scenarios envisioned by some critics of the WTO/NWO, the canny Illuminists have realized that they can carry out their plans within a ‘democratic’ context, and in virtual plain sight by manipulating public opinion using all the means available from psychology and technology. Try taking off the blinders when viewing or hearing or reading 'the news,' and place the facts in a broader panorama... it's surprising what you may conclude.

Endemic Mendacity

Another bleak insight that I've gained over my maturing years is how widespread and endemic the practice (some would say the art) of lying really is. When I first noticed it, I assumed it was a recent phenomenon, but reflecting on some of the glaring examples from history, I realized that it is an age-old and discouraging characteristic of human nature. Perhaps some people honestly believe the deceptions that they spout so eloquently. (To illustrate what I mean, I was working at a college once, where the dean or director seemed like a personable sort of fellow. He called a meeting of our faculty, and proceeded to expound on the value of high academic standards and how each of us was expected to uphold those standards by making demands on the students, etc, etc. It sounded very high-minded and idealistic. I was stupid enough to believe him. Two weeks later, I was dismissed from my lecture class because the students had complained about me (the college depended on tuition-paying enrollment for its maintenance). A week after that, the director took a transfer to another position. From that moment on, I saw purposeful lying used all over.) The spokesmen involved don't just 'color' the facts; they boldly state the exact opposite of what they know is the true course. If you want to allay fears about say, environmental damage, you state clearly that your company is deeply committed to the environment and upholds the highest standards in environmental protection. Then your company continues to carry on business as usual, completely ignoring all environmental considerations. It sounds too cynical to be true; but as always, truth is stranger than fiction, and the more outrageous a lie, the more chance it will be accepted by the poor, ignorant masses. It's not that the masses don't care. It's, as all you readers know, that we are all so harried trying to live in a world of information overload, job overload, and sensation overload (pull that MP3 out of your ear for a sec!) that, well, you can't check out every obvious lie you hear.

A principal weapon used by the conspirators in their ongoing process of 'educating' (ie. dumbing down) the populace is the use of 'experts' whom I call 'soothing-sayers' (as opposed to sooth-sayers who are supposed to be revealing 'sooth/truth'). These are persons with lots of fancy initials after their names, who assure us in academic rhetoric that all is well, there's nothing to worry about because 'science' tells us so. These were the people who brought us thalidomide in the 1960s; nuclear power (with no plan for disposal of hazardous wastes); blood transfusions during the early AIDS days; tobacco as a harmless product; and so on and on. The experts have all the science to back up their soothing assurances; don't worry, be happy... and just keep on making your paltry salaries and investing that hard-earned money in the black hole of the stock markets to keep the conspirators fabulously wealthy. Lately, they've been assuring us that there's nothing to 'global warming,' it's just a cyclical thing, so relax and break out the sun-screen. As hired spokespersons for the junk-food industry they tried to tell us that there's no danger to health associated with consuming vast quantities of garbage food. Fortunately, individuals like John Robbins (a junk-food heir himself) was brave enough to defect and proclaim the truth. Over the past half-century, the prostitute experts have had their hands full assuring us that UFOs are purely mythical archetypes, or optical delusions, or psychotic episodes, etc, etc. Meanwhile, even the major news media seem to harbor some doubts about the issue, witness one of Peter Jennings last big stories for his network.

Their M.O.

In view of the above observations, you can start to see how crazy the world has become. Those who desire world dominion are basically carrying out their plans in plain sight! Sure, there are plenty of intelligent people who see thru their schemes, and who even write books, make public speeches, appear on 'talk TV' shows, and so on. But the conspirators aren't worried any more. They've learned that they don't have to use dictatorial force and thereby finally blow their cover completely. No, it's far easier and cleaner to simply be patient, let the critics blow in the wind for a while, and just keep on with Plan A. The great harried masses don't like to hear 'bad news,' they don't like to listen to 'intellectuals,' they don't like to tune in to documentary news or intelligent TV shows... So, what's to worry about? Who cares what the investigators find?-- Just stick to the script. Now you can see why Michael Moore has used a more effective tactic, and why he must be starting to annoy some of the conspirators sorely. Mike has realized what the public doesn't like, and he has created these 'feature movie documentaries' that present research in a kind of story format, with himself as the protagonist, a sort of innocent abroad who just happens to uncover, oops, some very embarrassing material. Michael is a genius in his own right.

Showing their Spots

In light of everything I've said here, you can appreciate why I now believe in a conspiracy-- mainly because so many egghead spokespersons are assuring me that everything is just fine... apart from those nefarious 'terrorists,' of course. If one could easily detect the stench of a 'rat' following 911, and again at the invasion (oops, liberation) of Iraq, then the odor has become nauseous with the stunning images from New Orleans. If the images didn't stun you, then perhaps some of the stories that circulated on--not the captive 'news'--the Internet (the last bastion of free expression and honest news) would shock your senses into action. Besides some real-life horror stores from survivors, there are others concerning obvious 'stand-down' orders from gov't officials preventing aid efforts from even reaching the disaster areas. It smells a lot like the air force jets that didn't show up, within an hour of the first impact on the world Trade towers. Well, you can see what I mean about hiding a conspiracy in plain view! It's just so far-fetched that the normal mind figures there must be a reasonable explanation that 'they' know, or 'everyone knows;' therefore, dismiss it and move on. I wonder if some rational Germans realized that Hitler's 'democratic election' in 1933 was engineered and orchestrated? Let's not beat around the Bush, folks-- such stand-down orders could only have come from the President. The question is: who's directing Boy Georgie?

And that's the nub of the conspiracy. The cabal (Illuminati, whoever) have seen (heck, arranged) that the USA has become the super-power on the planet... at an era when the whole globe can be reached by communications and transportation technologies in a very short time. For the first time in recorded history, the opportunity is here for true world domination. (ie. As opposed to the relative world domination of the Romans or later, Britain in the 18th/19th centuries). For the conspirators, NOW is the propitious time to put the final touches on the ages-old plan. Continue to mesmerize the masses in the USA itself; continue to flex those military muscles in far-flung, strategic outposts; continue to ratchet up the audacity of the lies, the usurpation of human rights, the violation of American constitutional ideals, the abuse of Americanized 'Christianity,' and the abject enthrallment of the news media into blatant propaganda organs. Engineer a few more 'disasters' or 'terrorist attacks' on US home turf to really stir up those blindly patriotic juices and foster a final willingness to concede personal rights for the empty promise of 'peace and security.' Yes! The final victory, the ultimate achievement of human avarice and viciousness is now within plain sight! No more planning and waiting patiently for centuries and decades for the pieces to fall slowly but relentlessly into place, while brilliant leaders arise and are buried, the dream not yet fulfilled. SOON, very soon-- I'm sure the conspirators can smell it-- the New World Order will be a reality. Control the USA and you can control the world. The USA is all but a dictatorship, the Bushmen being willing partners or pawns. It's basically a cake-walk from here on.

The Resistance

Of course, it's not over. There are still plenty of cogent, awake, sincere opponents of this juggernaut. But, what exactly are they opposing? It's difficult to get a grip on. Some think it's Bush, some the NWO, some the Masons, others the bankers, or the WTO, or what have you, And how coordinated is this opposition? Just by believing in different bogey-men makes it almost impossible to coordinate the efforts of the opposition. In contrast, they are dealing with a ghostly menace that has been honing its skills and reviewing its plans for literal ages. The cabal has neutralized a large segment of potential opposition by exercising the mind-conditioning of a domesticated media. Even the stream of movies gushing out of Hollywood over the last decade or so has consisted of spectacles designed to prepare the common mind for such things as huge catastrophes of all kinds (quick think of 4 different ones!), the arrival of UFOs with alien intelligence, terrorist plots to subjugate the world, and so on. With the proliferation of TV 'reality shows' (another irony) the average viewer is hard pressed to distinguish true reality from concocted reality. When the final moves are made to make the conspiracy irreversible, most people will welcome it at first. So dull has our collective thinking ability become that lies appear appealing, even when they contradict common sense... so long as they tell us what we want to hear.

From that point on, the opposition will have to go underground... and it'll be a dreary grind. To get a flavor for how awful it will be, you need only read Orwell's classic '1984' (or just watch the movie, I suppose). The only thing that will save the world, ironically, will be its destruction. Because, the conspirators may be smart, but they don't seem to understand that by setting in motion forces that give them ultimate global control, they have unleashed powers that must 'backfire' and blow the whole planet into a wasteland. Whether they survive or not (and they probably will not, for similar reasons) there will indeed be a 'new world,' populated by a few survivors, who will not likely tolerate any further talk about governments and 'free enterprise,' and armies for defense, and all the old bull-shit that finally brought the whole house down. But, okay, now I'm really stepping out into the slippery realm of ultra-speculation! ;-)

So-- stay tuned to your favorite web-news sites, and keep collecting and fitting those pieces of disparate-looking information into your data bank. Look for the patterns; reverse all the lies; move to higher ground. These are certainly interesting times, as the end of another world age draws to its dramatic conclusion. May the 'true God' of the universe be with all who read this, and may Its Spirit give true light and direction to your mind. Amen.
